Belle Vue Methodist Church is a gathering of 86 members. Sunday
Morning worship is attended by about 75 people.
Our church has a wide age range from 94 years to toddlers with
several young families and a thriving Junior Church.
As well as to worship, the church meets together to pray and
study the Bible at house group meetings held during the week.
Many members work
voluntarily for various charitable organisations in Shrewsbury
and beyond. This year 2000 / 2001 the Church is supporting the
MRDF to provide trees to be planted in deforested parts of the
world
The church has close
links with other churches in the area - working with Churches
Together in Shrewsbury and supporting One World Week , Shrewsbury
Churches Youth Project and Christian Aid.
Many members enjoy
singing and recently joined an ecumenical choir to sing and perform
in the millennium musical 'Hopes and Dreams' written by Paul
Field and Stephen Deal.
Mission Statement
Belle Vue Methodist
Church exists to work out the command of Jesus to love God with
heart and mind, soul and strength, and our neighbour as ourselves.
Acknowledging God's
unconditional love for all and recognising the God-given uniqueness
of each individual, we seek to promote and encourage spiritual
fulfilment for people of all ages who wish to join us on a pilgrimage
of faith.
As a Christian fellowship,
we seek to care for each other within the disciplines of an enabling
love, providing a model of God's purpose for living together.
We aim to provide
opportunities for the acknowledgement and worship of God, a fellowship
of prayer and a centre for Christian teaching and spiritual exploration
- learning how to understand and communicate the Good News for
contemporary society.
We also aim to serve
our Lord within the community, to promote a fair and compassionate
society, to provide support for all who need it and offer our
premises as a resource for the community.
