Sunday 10:30pm JUNIOR CHURCH

The Belle Vue Methodist Junior Church encourages Young People to live in harmony with God, Creation and each other.

The children in our Junior Church are a lively group of 4 - 11 year olds. We also provide a creche for children under 3 years. We meet every Sunday at 10.30 to sing, have stories, say prayers, draw, paint, do craft, share news (both good and bad) and enjoy each other's company.

Our leader, Barbara Hallworth, presents the stories of the Bible in a variety of ways, using puppets, drama and sometimes video. In all our activities and worship we attempt to show the children that they are special and that Jesus loves them.

Our aim is to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere so that the children feel part of the family of the church, and after our time together we all join the adults for the closing part of their morning worship, giving us an opportunity to share with them what we have been doing. The final hymn in Church is specially chosen to suit the children. We finish at around 11.40 am.

During the Summer holidays we organise picnics and sometimes a barbecue and we always have a Christmas party.

If you want to find out more about us, come along any Sunday at 10.30am - you will be very welcome. You don't have to come every week - we are just glad to see you whenever you can.

Our church follows an official policy on Safeguarding Children whilst they are in our care.

14th Shrewsbury Rainbows

We meet on Tuesday evenings from 4.45 pm to 5.45 pm. We wear yellow tabards. We play games, make things, cards, gifts, etc., sing songs. We say a promise and sing a special rainbow song:-

We can make a rainbow, first theres red so bright
Then theres blazing orange, yellow pale and light,
Then theres green so restful, blue and indigo,
Violet is the last of all to join our shiny bow.

14th Shrewsbury Brownies

We meet on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 7.30 pm. We do a lot of badge work. Also Journey work - this is 8 challenges to do on each section - the sections are Footpath, Road and Highway.

We usually go on a Pack Holiday which involves two nights sleep-over. Taking turns in doing the washing, cleaning and cooking. Making lots of things, helping each other and having fun.

1st Shrewsbury Beavers

Beavers meet on Thursday evenings from 5.15 pm to 6.15 pm. We make things, sing, play games, indoors and outdoors. We go along to Briarfields. We chat about safety (road and fire), also the Country Code which is most important when you go out.

For our opening and closing ceremonies we get into lodges, sing a song and say a prayer.

We chatted about Road Safety one evening. Also we did a wordsearch to find words in it to cover Road Safety. Afterwards we walked along the Belle Vue Road and crossed the road using the crossing by Trinity Street. Walking back up the road we used the Green Cross code to cross back to the hall safely.

1 st Shrewsbury Cubs

Hi there, Just thought I'd let you know, we had a fabulous time abseiling on Grinshill. Simon took lots of photos and the weather was lovely with a beautiful sunset. They all had a go. Some went down with a helper and others didn't get off the edge but tried and we all got home safely!
